Sorry it has been so long since I have posted a blog. We gals here at b.glam took three weeks off at Christmas to spend time with our families. Not only did the new year ring in, but so did loads of work here at b.glam. Meg and I headed off for a trade show for six days in Dallas at the end of January to debut our spring line. Then Meg, Tricia and their husbands headed for a show in Vegas last week and just arrived home this morning. Needless to say, I was a very busy bee while they were gone. I'll have to admit it was a bit eerie here at work. The silence was so loud, I felt a little like Tom Hanks in "Castaway". Our "dirty boy" manequin became my Wilson-hey, it was someone talk to.
Now that they're back, I will spend my next couple of weeks "sweatshopping" the orders they received! I believe a lot of people don't realize that we(well me mostly) make all the shirts ourselves when ordered. That's what makes each shirt special and one of a kind.
Loral and Mason were super excited when the woke up this morning because it was "Balentine's Day" as Mason says. They haven't received their treats yet, because I was waiting until tonight when Matt was home and awake and I could give him his present also. I thought about leaving their gifts out so they could open them while I was at work, but couldn't because once again I last minute shopped and had to have Matt's gift 2nd day air shipped! I love buying presents for everyone and can't wait for them to open them this evening.
Before beginning this blog, I was looking back at photos from our previous photo shoots. It's amazing how quickly time goes by. I found a picture of Loral, Mason and myself and was shocked at how young they look! Compared to the pictures we just had taken in January for the spring line, they look tiny. One blink of an eye and it seems like they age a whole year! I loved the photos of them from the spring line. Bishop Photography did a fabulous job of catching the most endearing expressions.
Well I hope everyone has a wonderful day, and has the opportunity to spend the evening with their beloveds! I know I will be. I promise not to wait so long to blog again. Bye for now. It didn't turn out that badly this year. Last year was a nightmare and I ended up taking pictures of Loral and Mason by themselves and putting two separate pictures on the cards. Next year I will be on the ball and will have my photos done hopefully sometime in November...yeah right.
I still haven't finished all of my Christmas shopping and I am becoming a little panicked. I wrapped gifts for the first time last night and now I know exactly what I still have left to buy. Hopefully the stores will still have what I need. My husband and little guy Mason were the easiest to buy for. After being together for 16 years, choosing Matt's Christmas gifts comes very easy for me. Loral is the hardest because as a little girl who loves commercials, she asks for everything she sees. So then, I have to really think about what is practical and what it is she really and truly wants.
I just wonder if the Holiday season will ever slow down for me? I feel like in order to accomplish all that needs to be done, I have to move in twenty different directions all at once. I look forward to growing older with our children and their families. At this point in time, Matt and I can take a slow look around us and value and cherish what is most important to us-our families.
On that note I will bid all a goodbye. I wish you and your families the best of holidays! Remember to slow down and think about what Christmas is really about, not just the packages and gifts under the tree. Talk with you in the New Year.
Tifftiffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15825855655985032746noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-12322706634723371142007-12-04T10:15:00.000-05:002007-12-04T14:41:21.988-05:00Griff has started hockey - watch out!!!

Well, Griffin Donald has started ice hockey at the ripe old age of 3 1/2! He definitely looked the part. He had never been on skates before and we just threw him to the wolves - so to say. If you can believe it he did great:) He shuffled along and got in the swing of things and was even hitting the puck around at the end. I asked him if he had fun and he said "Ya Mom! Hannah Montana, here we come! That's right, we finally got tickets to the concert. My friend Ruthy and I have been trying to buy tickets for the Hannah Montana concert on Jan. 3 since they went on sale September 29. No such luck in the beginning. Those tickets went like wild fire, in which most were bought up by scalpers who have them listed online for ridiculous amounts of money. Eveery few days since the tickets went on sale, we have checked on ebay, stubhub and ticket master trying to find tickets. Quicken Loans Arena claimed they were going to sell 2000 more tickets to sell out the arena, but no date had been released. I was beginning to get desperate and offered to buy 4 tickets from a lady on ebay at $500.
Crazy, I know. She just listed them on Saturday and had no bids yet, so I emailed her and offered her the starting bid price of $500 for all four tickets. I then called Ruthy to ask if she would be willing to still pay $250 for her two tickets. She agreed, but while we were talking she clicked on ticketmaster (which she had bookmarked three long months ago) and her request of purchasing 4 tickets went through!!! We were so freaking excited. I was yelling, screaming and jumping up and down in my kitchen. My husband Matt was in the next room looking at me like I was crazy. But, then he was just as excited as I was that Loral was going to get to see her idol. All I could think was how pumped Loral and Macy were going to be getting to go see Hannah. My Christmas shopping for Loral is now complete. I really didn't want to pay more than double what the tickets were worth, but desperation was looming. The lady from ebay emailed me back today and said she wanted to give it a couple more days before she could give me a decision. I was so relieved to write her back telling her no worries, WE ALREADY GOT TICKETS!!! I think it's going to be a wake-up call for all those people trying to sell their over priced tickets now since 2000 more tickets were put out there. It's kind of sweet justice for those of us who were playing fair and by the rules. I will definately post a blog after the concert letting everyone know how it went. I can't wait until Christmas morning for Loral to open up her gift! So long for now.
Tifftiffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15825855655985032746noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-18830988968813476242007-11-28T14:46:00.000-05:002007-11-28T15:28:14.143-05:00All I want for Christmas...Black Friday. To many, this is a day that just passes without another thought, and to the rest of us-IT'S AN EVENT!!! For the past six years now, I go out with my mom, sister and cousin (and other friends) shopping the day after Thanksgiving. The thrill of searching through the hundreds of ads on Thanksgiving night to find the deals of the century scattered across the town is what we live for. However, this year there wasn't much that appealed to me. (I began my Christmas shopping three months ago and I'm almost finished.) The rest of the clan was out at 11:30 Thanksgiving night. I said no way was I giving up an entire nights sleep when I would have to come home to my two kiddos. I met up with them at 3:00 in the morning. Usually we stand outside freezing to death, but they opened a 24 hour Walmart five minutes down the road. Aaaahhhh, you can't beat getting out of the car and strolling right into the store missing out on frost bite. Sadly to say, I had all of my gifts picked out and in my cart by the time the "hot bargains" began to sell at 5:00. So, I just stood by our carts and helped the others grab the items they were there for.
Our next goal was Target. Here I hit the jackpot. I'm having a hard time buying for Loral this year. I wanted to get her Hannah Montana concert tickets, but I am having to wait out the thirsty blood suckers who are trying to resell their tickets for outrageous amounts of money(that's another blog in itself). So, I don't want to buy her gifts until I know whether or not I will be spending money on the concert tickets. But, for the past year and a half, she has come out of her play room while watching Nickelodean and asked for Moon Shoes. I would just laugh because I was picturing the moon boots they had out when I was little. I would just always say, "Maybe, we'll see or maybe that's something you can ask Santa for." As I was walking down the main aisle to get to the toys, their they were. A whole display of Moon Shoes!!! I know this is not a practical gift, but wasn't there always one gift we all wanted as a little one and never seemed to get? Like Ralphie and his Red Rider BB gun. Well this year I decided was Loral's year to get her pointless gift in which she will probably kill herself with. For those of you out there who don't know what Moon shoes are, the box describes them as mini trampolines for your feet!!! Rock on Little Miss Loral, I will catch you if you fall!tiffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15825855655985032746noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-223019243304722732007-11-19T21:35:00.000-05:002007-11-19T22:10:21.076-05:00Honest People-There still is hope for our world!I learned this past weekend that there are actually some honest, decent people left on our planet. Amazingly, I actually talked to three of them. While out of town for a little R & R I left my wallet at a store, but did not realize this until the morning I was coming home. The store where I had left my wallet is not open on Sundays, so I had no way of talking to anyone as to whether or not it was there. I stopped in to the local police station that was next to the store hoping the clerk had turned it in. She hadn't. I was bummed! Having to go through replacing items in a wallet is not fun, not to mention losing the money inside. However, I was about to learn there are still some honest people roaming around out there. The owner of the store left a message on my cell phone stating they had my wallet! Yay! I figured that what money I had in there was long gone, but at least I would have everything else. But, the owner made sure to then tell me that all my money was still there and he would be happy to mail it to me! I was shocked. Not only had the clerk who found the wallet given to her boss, she took nothing from my it! Then the owner was a honest human being and looked through my wallet for identification and he took nothing from it! Today, another worker called my cell phone because she was not aware that I had spoken to the owner. She was calling to let me know they not only had it but there was still money in the wallet. I am so grateful that these three wonderful folks took the time to find and contact me. They were so very kind in making sure I knew that I still had my money. How easy for any of these people to slide the money out and tell me they had my wallet, but when they got it there was nothing left. Instead, I have come in contact with three "fabtabulous" individuals who posess honesty and the gene to do the right thing! Thanks to them, my faith has been renewed "a little" for the people surrounding all of us!tiffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15825855655985032746noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-52531267668867852422007-11-05T15:19:00.001-05:002007-11-05T15:40:17.076-05:00Halloween rocked!<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_qVUvR0WFDpo/Ry9_aJczPCI/AAAAAAAAAAU/7LJwdRMFSJg/s320/DSC05239.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5129458587788327970" />
Halloween was so much fun! It was a perfect evening for trick or treating! Loral had so much fun dressing up as Hannah Montana. Mason was a handsome little vampire. Tricia's kids were characters from "High School Musical", so we had a whole Disney entourage walkin' the streets. Loral wanted to keep going and going. Mason on the other hand wasn't quite sure about the spooky costumes and even told one man who tried to put candy in his bag, "No, I don't need any more candy, I HAVE enough!" When we got back home, they couldn't wait to dig through their loot.
As for the Halloween party, it was "Great Success" as my brother-in-law kept saying all evening. He was dressed as Borat in the neon green "mankini". It was hilarious!! Every other man at the party said they wouldn't have had the "balls" to wear that costume. Kevin, you definately won best costume. As for my costume I decided to go as school girl Britney. I portrayed the innocent girl she once was. It's kind of sad of how quickly her success took a turn down hill. As for what she has become now, hopefully she will receive the kind of help she needs to change. Just because she is insanely rich and has two children, does not make her a mature adult. I for one am rooting for her!
Well, hopefully next years party will be as entertaining as this years! I would have loved to posted some of our other pictures, but they aren't PG. Someone would either send us hate mail or create a new video "b.glam girls gone wild"!!! I hope that everyone else had a wonderful Halloween evening trick or treating.tiffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15825855655985032746noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-90380071856344000122007-11-01T11:57:00.000-04:002007-11-01T12:08:04.865-04:00How fast they grow up
OK. I know that everyone always says "Don't blink, your kids will be grown up and out of the house sooner then you think." Well, I am realizing, much to my dismay, that it isn't far from the truth. Don't get me wrong, there are some days when I think to myself how much easier it will be when they are grown up and away at school or married with their own families. Then there will be time for my husband and I to do the things we have always wanted to do ALONE!!! This week I got a huge wake up call. My three kids brought home their school pictures. My oldest daughter looks 3 years older then she did in her picture last year! I almost cried. She looks so grown up that I almost think I am dreaming. My son finally smiled without his famous "pirate face" and his picture is adorable and my youngest daughter looks like a little angel. Where did the time go? We just had Halloween and I was still getting over the mad rush of costume shopping from LAST YEAR!! Next is Thanksgiving, then my son's birthday on November 29th and then, OH MY GOODNESS, IT IS CHRISTMAS!!!!! I think someone needs to invent a time warp so that we can go back in time to when our kids were babies and just think about all of the things we have already forgotten about. Such as, a funny thing they said, or something they did. Someone please get a move on and get it invented because pretty soon, they will be away at school or married with their own families.
Triciatriciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06690696658827045350noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-60413444707774371422007-10-30T13:47:00.001-04:002007-10-30T14:10:23.071-04:00The Halloween CrazeIt's that crazy time of year again! We have been having a countdown til trick or treat for the past ten days. The worst part of Halloween for me is the vats of candy sitting around. If it's there, I will eat it! How to hide it from the kiddies and most importantly myself, is the hardest. Loral is going to be her idol, Hannah Montana! She is so pumped to put on her wig and Hannah Montana shirt. Mason is going to be a vampire like Max, from Max and Ruby's Halloween. My husband Matt chose our Halloween costumes this year. A step up from the indecent ones we had last year, but not by much! This year we are going to be K-Fed and Britney. While Matt's costume was easy to put together, mine was a little more tricky. Should I be the innocent school girl look, the sexy diva look, or the I just shaved my head and am beginning to go crazy look! I am not going to tell yet what I have chosen because I don't want to give away my costume for those of you who are reading this and will be attending our annual Halloween bash!!! Stay tuned... I also wish everyone a safe and exciting Halloween and trick or treat. Bye for now.tiffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15825855655985032746noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-71869506950049850952007-10-28T22:05:00.000-04:002007-10-28T22:25:52.612-04:00My newest Venture - teaching onlineWell, as we all know, Mom's take on a lot of roles - we are EVERYTHING TO EVERYONE!

And, before I started b.glam baby, I was a teacher for 13 years. I loved it, but hated all the stuff that came along with teaching in the inner city in Cleveland. For the most part the kids were great...but, the parents, the wacky administration - and I mean CRAZY!!!! My last principal should have been committed - if she isn't there right now. (She was fired from Cleveland Schools, which is just about impossible unless you physically harm a child, or as the rumor mill says for her, embezzled money to keep for her own - pretty smart that one is!)

Anyways...I'm off track...

I am now back to teaching part time again while also trying to run a company, take care of 2 kids, keep a happy husband & 2 wiener dogs - Oliver and Maxine, and keep my sanity. Sometimes I wonder if I am the one who may be a little crazy:)

But, the teaching is fun and I am doing something entirely opposite of what I did in Cleveland. I have a masters in reading, but I also have a minor in my undergraduate in creative arts. That lets me teach my Art 1 and Art 2 classes. They are high school kids, which I swore I would NEVER teach! Being around 1st graders for the past 7 years, high school is VERY different. However, the "bad part" as I thought it would be, does not apply when you are online. You don't have to worry about a big classroom and all the hormones. You just help them and you can actually communicate with them - something that is hard at times with 6 year olds, because you can't even read some of their names!

Anyways, I put out an assignment for my students to help create a new logo and give us some fresh ideas - I thought it would be a fun way to combine art and let them see a little bit about me. I am also giving them a chance to blog on the b.glam baby blog. I am really excited for them to share some of their ideas and learn some new things about them. I don't get to have that one on one interaction with them in the classroom, so maybe this will help!

So kiddo's, I hope to hear more about you and learn somethings about you OUTSIDE of the classroom!

Megan
A.K.A Mrs. Kuosman:)meganhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05776950394466342226noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-59296854352312464752007-10-25T14:13:00.000-04:002007-10-25T14:46:10.751-04:00Boys should be boysWell, here it is. My second blog ever! Everyone who knows me knows that I am very picky when it comes to dressing my kids. Everything must match to a "T "for the girls and Kenzie our son always coordinates perfectly. This "condition" as many of my friends refer to it as, started when we had our oldest daughter Sophie. When she was an infant, she always had a pacifier that was the same color as her outfit hanging from her with a binky string of the same color. Also, any bottles or sippy cups she used that day, were the same color as the outfit. My father-in-law said that would change when we found out we were pregnant with our son a mere 11 months later. I told people he obviously didn't know me very well and when Kenzie came along, he was dressed everyday with the same care and matching factors. Sadie our third came a short 17 months after Kenzie and again, perfectly matched, always!! Anyways, back on the subject. I have seen many parents who dress their sons in clothes that are either made for girls only or should be. Kids have enough problems at school in this day and age without being made fun of for the way they are dressed. I just found this awesome product called baby legs. They are super trendy and cool leg warmer type leggings for kids. However, check this out.

WHAT IN THE SAM HECK WERE THESE PEOPLE THINKING?????? These boys look like they are waiting to go hit the happy(gay!) playdate nightlife. COME ON!!! BOYS IN TIGHTS?? WHAT NEXT? PIRATE SHIP PATTERNED TUTUS FOR BOYS!!! PLEASE! If you have a child who happens to be of male gender, please lord do not under any circumstances subject him the the mental scarring of wearing leg warmers at age 5. O.K. I admit, on a 5 or 6 month old baby, in the dead of winter, in the pitch black(OK that one was going a little too far) they MIGHT be cute. On your first grader NEVER!!!!!!!!!! Please think about what you are doing to that childs psyche. They already have to overcome so many insecurities, please help them out a little by dressing them appropriately for age and gender. Enough said. Once again LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product for GIRLS ONLY!!!! www.babylegs.net Love the product, hate the unisex implication.
Triciatriciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06690696658827045350noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-32111910737031643362007-10-24T14:34:00.000-04:002007-10-24T15:23:43.977-04:00Meeting the Baby Einstein "Guru" Julie-Aigner ClarkWell, Tiff & I had our first real ever celeb type sighting, and it was a good one:) We did our first ever COSE meeting at the IX Center in Cleveland and we were lucky enough to see that the key speaker was none other than the FOUNDER of BABY EINSTEIN!!! (or as my 3 year old says - and has said since he was 1, Baby Stein Stein)
It was right up our alley!
As many of you may know both Tiff and I have said that we could not have survived many days with our little ones with out the soothing sounds of Bach and Mozart. http://www.babyeinstein.com/
It is a lifesaver!!!! So, we couldn't wait to hear what Julie was going to say:)
Also, we were lucky enough to get to each each LUNCH with her - yes friends we had LUNCH with her!
Anywayyyyyssss....back on track Meg.
So, we sat in the front row of about 1000 people so that we could hear the speech, and it was AWESOME!!! She was a great speaker and I love the way that she presented the info to us. She didn't use all kinds of charts and graphs, just fun colors, cool text, and simple pics that caught your attention.
Her story was like deja vu for me. (Well except maybe making billions of dollars and selling the rights to Disney) But, the start up part was very much like b.glam. She was a teacher that quit and decided to stay at home, when her daughter was born. - Much like Tiff and I. She started in her basement, used friends and other stay at home Moms to answer phones and promote her business, and did everything she could to make the business succeed. She was engaging and charming without even trying and it felt like you were listening/talking with a friend. I can pretty much tell you why she succeeded - (besides all the hard work and endless hours she put into it) She succeeded because she is likable, friendly, and a good Mom. She knew what her kids would like, and looked at the business as a Mom, not a high powered executive. It worked for her because of the product that she had!
Well, when it came time for lunch I was PUMPED!!!!
I, of course, was the first one to the room and was ridiculously over anxious. Soon, more people trickled in and then Tiff was there. (We were in 2 different seminars earlier) We were mingling and talking with some other business owners and then Julie appeared. I didn't want her to think that I was stalking her, but I really wanted to sit next to her, if only to gain some of her business savvy AURA:) So, I waited to see where she put her purse down and was sitting, and then I literally RAN over there to put my stuff down. She must have thought I was CRAZY, but I was going to make sure that I was there.
It was so fabtabulous! I got to talk with her and Tiff and I were able to listen to all her wise words of wisdom. We gave her a couple of our shirts for her two daughters and we told her we were going to make her one because she is/was a Breast Cancer Survivor. So, as we speak Tiffy is busy sweat shopping it for her:) We are happy to make it because she is well worth it. Seeing that my Mom went through Breast Cancer too, it is not an easy challenge and every woman who deals with it should be applauded beyond belief!
So, that was our brush with fame, and the great thing about it is, she is still a real person. Good for you Julie!
Oh, and by the way, we were hoping to meet her baseball team in the World Series - she is from Colorado now and is a Rockies Fan. And, all you Cleveland Fans know how that went....BUT DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THAT ONE!
Meganmeganhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05776950394466342226noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-65441386358242791272007-10-24T12:00:00.000-04:002007-10-24T12:20:05.719-04:00The Bad Breath StoryWell, Loral's honesty and say whatever is on your mind is on the move once again! Loral is in the big "K" this year. Every evening we go over what happened or the exciting things she did in school that day. Well, the first full week of school went by with no glitches. Then, Loral came home one day and informed me that one of her classmates had bad breath. (or as Loral put it, _____ has stinky breath!!!) I explained to her that maybe this person didn't have time to brush their teeth that morning, or they ate something that had a strong odor. She just looked at me the entire time I was explaining this. She then blurted out, " I told her she has stinky breath!" Oh no. I told Loral that wasn't very nice because she might have hurt her feelings or someone else might have heard her and she could have embarressed the little girl and wouldn't her feelings be hurt if someone said that to her. She seemed to understand that and so I thought this topic was over. But, no! Loral came home a couple of weeks later and said to me "________ breath still stinks!!!! I wonder if she ever brushes, I GUESS NOT!!" I immediately asked if she said anything to the little girl and she said yeah, I told her "Your breath still stinks." Ohhhh Loral. I was shocked and so I asked her if she remembered what I had told her about embarrassing the little girl. She said, "Mommy, I waited until the teachers were in the hall so they wouldn't hear me and she wouldn't be embarrassed!" She definately is one smart cookie, and as my mother-in-law has told me since she was born, she has a large brain! He, he. Well, at least I can say she is honest and will tell you how she feels.tiffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15825855655985032746noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-59757308104294296222007-08-10T12:59:00.000-04:002007-08-10T14:28:16.060-04:00How we hate the YankeesWell, here it goes, my first ever blogging experience. This story is about our oldest daughter Sophie.
We have 3 children, Sophie who is 8 years old, Kenzie, our son, who is 6 1/2 years old, and Sadie, our youngest, who is 5 years old.
When Sophie was born, we lived in New York. Technically we lived in Center Moriches on Long Island. My husband was in the Navy and when he left the Navy he was hired by the FAA to work at the Air Route Traffic Control Center on Long Island. We were married 2 years after he moved there. Sophie was born less than 2 years later.
While we lived in New York, we of course had to deal with all of the Yankees fans. That doesn't sound like it would be toio big of a deal, but my husband and I are die hard Cleveland Indians fans. Anyone who is an Indians fan, for the most part, hates the Yankees. It did not help that the first year that we were married was the year that the Yankees knocked the Indians out in the playoffs.
Needless to say, my husband HATES the Yankees.
When Sophie was 4 months old, I moved back to Ohio and my husband stayed in New York. Sophie and I lived in Ohio without my husband for a whole year. When he was finally able to move back, he was a very happy camper.
Sophie had a love for baseball at a very young age. Since my husband and I are huge fans, it was easy to turn her into a follower as well.
When Sophie was first learning to talk, my husband would be watching the Tribe and he would say, "Sophie, say "GO TRIBE"!" and she would reply, "OOOOOH IBE!". Of course we thought it was adorable even though no one else could understand what she was saying. One day I thought it would be fun to mess with my husband so while he was at work, I taught Sophie to say, "GO YANKEES!". Her adaptation was "OOOOH ANKIES!".
The next night when we were watching TV, the Indians were hosting the Yankees and things weren't going so well for our beloved Tribe. Kevin told Sophie that we needed to cheer to turn things around and started with the "GO TRIBE!" chant. Sophie promptly replied, "OOO ANKIES!"
DEAD SILENCE FOLLOWED!
"Where in the h-e-double hockey sticks did she learn that?", my husband asked?
"I have no idea," I said with a huge smile on my face.
He knew that I taught it to her and from then on, whenever we wanted to get his goat, we would say, "OOO ANKIES."
Eventually Sophie learned to say her g's but it was always"ANKIES". When she was about 3 years old, she was watching a game with my husband and she shouted the forbidden phrase as loud as she could. My husband said, "Sophie, come over here for a minute." She went and sat on his lap and he told her, "Sophie, if you can tell me WHY you like the Yankees, you can root for them and I won't say a word." Sophie said, "Because Daddy, they have chips!"
Now, I have to interject here to explain something to you. My Mom, sister and myself are OBSESSED with snacks, chips in particular. We know every type of chip, pretzel, Dorito etc, ever made. If I were stranded on an island and could have one food, it would be any form of snack chip. My husband hates the fact that we exist on junk food and is always trying to get me to cut back on the snacking, so when Sophie said she liked the "Ankies" because they have chips, my husband blew a gasket. "What do you mean you like the Yankees because they have chips? What kind of chips do you think they have" Sophie, in her adorable little 3 year old voice said calmly, "Because they have CHAMPION CHIPS!"
Needless to say, that ended the conversation and my husband has never asked Sophie again why she likes the Yankees!!!

triciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06690696658827045350noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-10946383208208712922007-08-01T15:15:00.000-04:002007-08-01T16:56:39.249-04:00How important is Customer Service?Customer Service....How importnat is it? Well, I am posing this question to the blog world out there because I feel it is VERY important!!! Let me tell you why - without great customer service, most places would just be "typical". In this day and age a "typical" place is EVERYWHERE! However, when you find a place with good customer service, you WILL come back - it is an almost guarantee!

I was a first hand recipient at two local Avon (Cleveland) places lately that had fabulous customer service!

Now, I have also had UNBELIEVABLE customer service at two business' that I use via the web. They are BlingWebArt.com (Aimee) that did our web site, and Merchant Moms (John) that maintains the back endof our website. Aimee & John are SAINTS and have helped us more than any human being could know! There is a place in web/teckkie Heaven for these two - and I will "gush" about them later....I have to try and keep on my current thought process...

SOOOO, I went to this local scrapbooking place in Avon - actually it is Elyria. It is called Scraptacular. I am trying to be a good Mom because my little gal, Callie, turns one on Saturday and I thought I should get my butt in gear and start "making memories" as they say... Well, I am like a fish out of water in there because I am pretty much clueless to this scrapbooking thing. So, I came in looking like a deer in headlights - knowing that the store closed in like 15 minutes and these people were going to HATE!!!! me. Well, boy did I get lucky when I met Linda. Linda is the new owner of Scraptacular and she could be the cutest thing in the world. She knew I was lost BIG TIME, but she was very diplomatic about it...She reminded me of one of my old boyfriends Mom. A "Mom" type but funny, hip, and made you feel as if you had been friends for years. She took me through everything and helped me get these great things that were called "pages in a pinch" (I think????) It was like the scrapbooking fairy came and said "I will cut all the items for you, give you a picture to follow, and pray that you are not that clueless to screw this one up!" Everything was pre-cut - ribbons and all and I just had to put it together - can you believe this stuff??? IT WAS FABTABULOUS!
Linda and I got to talking and starting swaping "owning our own business" stories and found out that we have a lot in common! She also has a blog that you can go to learn about all the "scrapbooking stuff" :) It is www.scraptacularblog.blogspot.com I have not been there yet, and that really shouldn't surprise anyone seeing that I am trying to do a years worth of scrapbooking in one week - it's not that easy...BELIEVE ME!!!

So, if you are in the area of Avon, Ohio go to Scraptacular at 5228 Detroit Road Elyris, Ohio. I can personally guarantee that you will get the best customer service around - especially if you get cute little Linda. Tell her Megan, the cupcake girl sent you - She will know what I mean...
I like to think those of us here at b.glam baby embody customer service and satisfaction. We couldn't be the company that we are now without it...Let us know what you think!
Happy Scrapping all of you...
oh...and I will tell you about the other local Avon restaurant with great customer service soon...check back - I know you are all anxiously waiting:)meganhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05776950394466342226noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-87242342664345114282007-07-31T09:23:00.000-04:002007-08-07T09:50:27.326-04:00And the winner is.......I know you all just dying to know who was the ham of the month for the b.glam cam. Thats right I don't get paid to come and have fun with the b.glam gals. Jeaslious, right? Well you should be becasue for something I'm doing for free it's pretty much the best internship anyone could ask for.

Any way I'm 21 and I like Harry Potter. Up until recently I didn't think this was that wierd. I didn't start reading Harry Potter until after I graduated high school. I had a job at a cart in the mall and I read to pass the time. By the end of the summer I was hooked to Harry Potter.

This was nothing compaired to my friends. I can easily say I had a diverse group of friends in high school. I was friends with the jocks, honor students, and even the metal kids. Most of my friends in all these groups had read the books. I was a late bloomer when it came to Harry Potter.

Now you have to remember that the first Harry Potter book came out in 1997. My friends and I were all 12, the target market for the book. As we grew up so did Harry and his friends. To me it seems natural for us to want to finish the series. In fact when I run into people, when I'm home from school, some of the questions that are bound to be asked are, "Where are you getting the 7th book? Do you think Harry will die? Whats up with Herminoie's cat?"

So why am I questioning my love for this series? I was at the midnight release of the 7th book on friday night. I met up with one of my best friends, Vickie. We got there at 10pm. There were about 20 people in front of us, all under under the age of 15. We think the group of kids in front of us were in junior high. It was hard to tell. One kid had obviously had a growth spirt over the summer because his shorts were way to short. He tried to hit on Vickie. The other boy we suspect will be beaten up in high school if this isn't happening all ready. He rubbed his butt up against Vickie. The otehr guy was a manager at one of the mall stores and he was talking to the girls they were with about jobs at the store. At about 11pm a guy joined them who was at least 18. He had a full beard and had a ring on every finger. He looked like a gypse. The first person to get the book at the store came running out after she bought in and sat right down in the middle of the hall and started to read it. I'll admit it's a good series, but nothing is that good. What I'm getting at is that all these people around us are a big bunch of weirdos'!

Am I to old for Harry Potter? Or am I just a big weirdo like everyone else at the book release? the b.glam baby galshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11885646189898514803noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-65884440704454210962007-07-20T00:16:00.000-04:002007-07-20T00:36:44.151-04:00Little Miss Loral's attitude!!! Hello to all!! This is my first time blogging-ever. I have been reading a lot of blogs lately and I have found that the most amusing to me are the ones about children. I have two little tots myself-Loral my five year old daughter and Mason my two year old son. These two youngin's definitely keep me hopping-especially Loral. Everyone had always told me how laid back and sweet little girls are and that little boys were wiry balls of energy. Not so in my case. Loral is like a firecracker-she is constantly on the move and into everything, not to mention she sometimes has a sassy mouth.
Loral Annalise is the subject during many of our work day lunches-I have at least one Loral story for everyday of the week. A favorite among us b.glam baby girls is the famous "green pants" story. I bought her super cute beachy lime green capri pants(not to mention all the shirts and accessories to match) and she HATES them. When I say she HATES them, she really despises them. I have tried on many occasions to get her to wear them, but she just won't wear them. We were going to her first ever roller skating party, so I thought these pants would be perfect because they roll up and would be no danger to the four continually rolling wheels. Of course, when she walked in her room and saw them she immediately freaked OUT! "I'm not wearing those" she replied. Me thinking that I could outsmart a five year old replied back "Loral they're so cute and they're green. Money is green, your bedroom is green, God made grass and it's green". Quick as she could get it out she said right back to me "Well God didn't make those green pants and I'm not wearing them!!!" Take that Mommy. That's my Loral-even when I would like to wring her neck she still makes me laugh!
the b.glam baby galshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11885646189898514803noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-87458102157399852932007-07-19T15:19:00.001-04:002007-07-19T15:31:18.067-04:00Check out the b.glam BUZZZZZZ

Hey everyone...b.glam baby has a new BUZZZZ area...check it out! We have had some, shall we say, interesting incidents at the b.glam offices and they have involved the site and blogging. He didn't really get why people are so into telling everyone around the world about their lives and their daily "goings on." Personally, I agree too. Who really cares what I am doing on a day to day basis, but I guess someone does.
So, why is this blogging thing so big? And more importantly, why do people who haven't even met you think that they are your "besties" (this is a college term that I have lovingly kept around because it reminds me of one of my "besties" KT)
When you "meet" someone it is face to face as far as I am concerned. If I have talked to you on the phone or emailed you, I haven't "met" you - I have only emailed or talked to you!
So, it is hard for me to understand why people who haven't even "met" (on my terms face to face) feel that they need to know personal things about you.

I have kept many different groups of friends over the years.

1.There are my friends who I grew up with, which I call "family friends",
2.there are my high school friends, who I actually still see as best as I can - there are about 10 of them and that is a big % seeing that I graduated from a CO-ED Private School with 34 graduates,
3. there are my college friends who are divided into separate groups also -
4. my DG friends,
5. my field hockey friends,
6. and then the random others
7. Then, I go to after I graduate and have my teaching friends, Seeing that I was at a couple different schools teaching, I have about 3 sets of teaching friends. (along with my post-graduate/Masters friends)
8. I have my Mom friends
9. My co-workers presently
10. And finally, another group of "club" friends!

BOY OH BOY!!! That is really exhausting!
However, out of all those friends, they probably would care less about what I am blogging about.
So, I am posing the question to all you "bloggers" out there....
What is so interesting about following other peoples lives, via the Internet, that you haven't even "met?"the b.glam baby galshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11885646189898514803noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755462726480085835.post-33634854815537880432007-07-17T13:39:00.000-04:002007-07-18T10:06:13.902-04:00Hammin' it up for the b.glam cam

Griffin at 3 years old in his big bro shirt! Now she is 11 1/2 months old.

With all the summer fun going around, I know that most people don't have time to go out and have a photo shoot with their little gremlin! And, as we know, this is NOT an easy task. You first have to try and get them dressed, (in their b.glam best - OF COURSE!) making sure their are no remnants left of their breakfast, lunch, dinner, or the never ending snacks that they HAVE to have.

Then, the real fun begins....trying to keep them still - even better yet, look at the camera! But, you can be rewarded for all the fun(or shall we say torture:)) that you get from that one good picture!

Send them in to us at b.glam baby. We will post them on the site for all relative to see! Just click to the b.glam cam and see all the info.

I would personally enter my 2 little "bundles of joy", (See above) but I guess that would defeat the purpose of getting a FREE $50.00 gift card! I can just go and make my own darn shirt:)

Right now, we have some pictures up and Miss Kyleigh Marie is in the lead in her "sweet pea" onesie - a FABtabulous b.glam baby original.
